parent meetings, and LPAC committee meetings. These meetings were held virtually at the beginning of the school year and gradually
moved to In-person gatherings as the COVID restrictions decreased. Also, Mental Health Professionals provided workshops, and in-services
for parents promoting well-being and social-emotional learning. In addition, ELAC committee meetings continued to be held at school sites
for parents of EL Learners. Knowing their parents, some sites held virtual meetings, while other sites held in-person meetings to discuss
student data, input for SPSA, and updating policies. As a result, board policy and administrative regulation policies were modified to current
CDE standards.
Challenges of Implementation:
As COVID restrictions decreased for in-person gatherings, meetings shifted from virtual to live and in-person. The ease of the zoom or
google meet links allowed parents to engage from the comfort of their own homes. However, it lessened the interaction with parents, as
many were hesitant to "unmute" to speak. In addition, in-person attendance was low at LPAC meetings. As a result, the District and school
site will continue to explore ways to engage parental input on meeting formats.

Action 6.1 had material differences due to limited scope of outreach during pandemic surges. Most meetings continued to be held virtually,
which resulted in reduced costs for childcare and other services normally provided during in-person settings.

Parent communication is successful through the joint efforts of multiple district departments at engaging parents and families of our various
populations.
ABC District staff continues to engage parents and families from across the District and successfully continues to implement various parent
and family engagement opportunities. In an effort to achieve this goal, the District office has successfully engaged parents by offering the
following to parents and families. The District hosted five Black Family Circle (BFC) meetings to support our parents and community. The
BFC increased Black student success by acknowledging the challenges that impede achievement. Based on 2020-21 CSPS of 4,555
participants, parent engagement in schools data was at 75%. Through this event students, educators, parents, and the community were
empowered with strategies and resources through strategic planning and solutions. Parent and community members provided feedback via
correspondence and surveys received from the District and their school sites. In addition, the District hosted three Hispanic-Latino Family
Circle meetings to support our parents and community to foster intercultural communication to empower Hispanic-Latino parents/guardians'
involvement in their child's academic success and support their voice in our school communities and beyond.
In October 2021, the ABC USD Career Technical Education and Community Partnerships department hosted the first annual College
Connections Week. The team developed a week-long celebration to support all ABC USD students in achieving college and career
readiness. Both middle and high school students participated in daily spirit days aligned with college. The ABC USD College Connections
