Deaconess Excellence Award Recipients–
Newbury Court
Marise Donascimento and
Marice Donascimento
Andrew Cousins
Dining Services Team Leader
Housekeeping
Twins Marise Donascimento and Marice Donascimento
from Housekeeping are both recipients of this year’s
Deaconess Abundant Life Awards. Employees for over
15 years, Marise and Marice have made a tremendous
impact on so many Newbury Court residents. Not
only do they excel at their job, but are also extremely
reliable and ALWAYS smiling.
Last fall, a resident had a cooking incident that set off
the fire alarms in her suite. Marise and Marice ran up a
flight of stairs to be sure the resident was ok. They did
not run away from the danger but straight into it to
be sure the resident was safe. This is not the only time
they have helped a resident above and beyond their
“job description.”
“The twins have set the bar high for our
department, the residents rely on their
professional, kind, and efficient work ethic.
They deserve this award as they live the
Deaconess values every day!”
— Manager Vincent Dinsmore
2021 Annual Report
As a graduate of Johnson
and Wales, Andrew
joined the Newbury Court
Dining team in 2014.
Over the past two years,
Andrew has blossomed
into one of the leaders
in the dining room. In
March of 2020, Andrew
was instrumental in
converting dining service
to all-delivery which was
not an easy job.
Andrew understands
all aspects of the dining
room, which makes him
a mentor to many of the
new members of the staff. The ease with which he
works in the dining room really helps to create a great
dining experience for guests and residents. Andrew
represents the mission in all aspects of his job and he
couldn’t be more deserving of this award.
“Andrew is an outstanding leader in our
team, excelling in all areas of our dining
services. Leading with consistency and
sincerity, Andrew creates an exceptional
experience for his peers and residents.”
