Gran’na looked it over. “Here is a tag on the inside collar. The
instructions say to clean with cool clean water and soap.”
“What about my legs and nose?” asked Tell-Tale and held up her tail.
“Does this help?”
Gran’na looked at the tag on Tell-Tale’s tail. “It’s worn away,” she
said. She went to a shelf on the wall. “The Scroll will help,” she said.
The Scroll was a big roll of different pieces of paper sewn together.

Stories From the Toy Closet continued.
“Find a clean puddle,” Percy said.
Tell-Tale looked all over for the cleanest puddle she could find. Then
she jumped in and wiggled around.
Kevin the Duck waddled up. “What are you doing?” he asked.
“Getting un-messy,” she explained.
She stood up. Her red coat had more brown stains on it and her
white fur looked even dirtier. “What am I going to do?” she said.
Kevin said, “Look at your Small Print.”
“Small Print?” Tell-Tale asked.
He lifted his left leg. “See?”
She knelt to look. Words were printed on the back side of his leg.
“Do I have Small Print?” she asked.
He waddled around her. “You have a small square piece of
something stitched to your tail.”
She pulled her tale around to look. The piece of something had small
print on it.
“What does it say?” she asked.
Kevin read slowly, “In-Struct-Shuns. But the rest is faded away.”
“What are In-Struct-Shuns?” she asked.
Kevin shrugged and said, “Go to Gran’na. She knows.”
Tell-Tale went to the warren of Gran’na the Bunny. Gran’na was a big
gray and white rabbit. She wore a blue apron that had pockets. Little
gold glasses were perched on her nose.

scrubbed her with gentle soap. Then Gran’na washed Tell-Tale’s red
coat in the sink with cool clean water.
Later, Tell-Tale looked at herself in Gran’na’s tall mirror.
“The Scroll’s In-Struct-Shuns worked. I look brand new!” Tell-Tale
said.
“It always does,” Gran’na said.
Tell-Tale asked, “What else does the Scroll say about us?”
“We’ll read it together,” Gran’na said. “There are a lot of things the
Toy Maker wants us to know.”
Tell-Tale was happy being clean again. In-Struct-Shuns are good, she
thought.
