Community Health Worker
Court Reporting
Community Health Workers (CHWs)
serve as a liaison between health/
social services and the community
to facilitate access to services and
improve the quality and cultural
competence of service delivery.
CHWs also provide outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support and advocacy.*
Court Reporters provide an essential service to the legal community
by capturing a verbatim transcript of
legal proceedings. This course series
provides participants with relevant
skills and practical insight into the
profession. Successful completers are
prepared to work as Court Reporters
or to pursue careers in CART
(Communication Access Realtime
Translation) and captioning. Classes
are located at 36 S. Charles Street,
Suite 2002, Baltimore, MD 21201
Course Sequence
• Community Health Worker I (57 hrs)
• Community Health Worker II (51 hrs)
• Community Health Worker Clinical
(46 hrs)
Industry Certification
Students will complete a 40-hour
clinical under the supervision of
a CHW. Upon completion, students
register with the Maryland Department of Health.
