serves a practical purpose on cold winter nights. Storytelling, legends and superstitions are all part of the
Appalachian way of life.
Most likely your family has a lot of Appalachian ways if you just think about it, I know we all have stories,
legends and superstitions handed down from generation to generation
I saw this and thought it was such a fun thing for kids to do. Take a big
marshmallow and stick a straw in it. Let the kids9 put cheerios or fruit
loops on it. When they get close to the end stick on another
marshmallow. Can ask the child what color the fruit loop is when they

Mountain Trails - Middle Prong Trail
When you visit the Smokies and want to take a hike you might want to hike the Middle Prong Trail. You will
see several waterfalls along the way. The hike is 8.3 miles roundtrip. It has a 1,140-foot elevation gain, this
trail is considered moderately strenuous. If you are healthy enough the trail just might be for you. It is a great
hike for those that love to see waterfalls and year-round botanical beauty.
