CAG Welcomes New Executive Director

“Chrissey” Nguyen is CAG’s new
Executive Director. Chrissey is
an experienced nonprofit executive
and has served in numerous capacities at a myriad of different nonprofit
organizations, leading key fundraising
and strategic efforts. Chrissey’s career
in nonprofit work began at a small
medical nonprofit in Chicago, where
she first developed and honed her fundraising skills, and started
her journey to becoming a skilled leader in the nonprofit sector.
She is thrilled to be utilizing her robust nonprofit experience to
advance CAG, and serve the Georgetown community.
“I am so honored to have been chosen for this role, and to
have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the
Georgetown neighborhood. Upon first sight of Georgetown,
I was captivated by the history and the community. To
be able to contribute to this thriving village, and to take
on the role of CAG’s Executive Director and continue the
142-year-old history is a dream.”
Prior to stepping into her role as Executive Director of CAG,
Chrissey served as Senior Director of Individual and Foundation

AG gratefully announces a momentous bequest from the
Trust of A. Michael Sullivan, Jr., intended to purchase a new
permanent headquarters in Georgetown. Our new townhome is located on 30th Street along the historic C&O Canal and
will honor Mr. Michael Sullivan and his wife, Beverly Bissell Sullivan.
Their legacy gift, the largest in CAG’s history, supports CAG in an
exceptional and unprecedented way.
Michael Sullivan, a proud Georgetowner, generously supported
many neighborhood initiatives during his long residency. Michael’s
compassionate spirit and warmth were known by many neighbors
and friends throughout the years. Michael's vision of a "home"
for CAG represents the importance of CAG’s services to him and
Georgetown. This historic gift symbolizes their wish for CAG to
expand its important work in our neighborhood.

responsible for the organization’s extensive individual, foundation,
and government funding.
Chrissey’s experience also includes fundraising at Ability Connection, Texas’ largest special needs nonprofit, and at Franciscan
Outreach, the leading provider of homeless services in Chicago,
as well as serving as a fundraising and strategic planning consultant for nonprofits across the nation. Throughout the course
of her career, Chrissey has worked passionately to advance the
lives of various populations, from individuals with disabilities
and cancer patients, to youth living in high-risk neighborhoods.
To date, Chrissey has raised millions of dollars for a multitude of
organizations.
Chrissey has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the
University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and is currently a member
of the UIC Alumni Association. She is also an active member of
the National Association of Asian American Professionals, the
Association of Fundraising Professionals, the National Asian Pacific
American Women’s Forum, and the Young Nonprofit Professionals
Network. In 2020, she was chosen to be a Diverse Communities
Scholar by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, receiving
the Chicago Chapter’s honor, hand-selected from thousands of
submissions internationally.
In her spare time, she loves trying new restaurants, needlepointing, reading, and spending time with her boyfriend Leif,
an attorney. A Chicago native, her favorite food is cheese fries
from Portillo’s.
