2018 CCOC Workforce Development
Committee and Highlights
COMMITTEE CHARGE
CCOC is committed to producing and retaining skilled workers in
Clayton, NC. The CCOC Workforce Development committee achieves
CCOC’s workforce development goals by implementing related
initiatives and collaborating with various community partners and
regional workforce programs, training opportunities, and events.

ACTION
Launched the CCOC Workforce
Development Committee with area
stakeholders and set goals to include the
collection of area workforce/education data
in order to establish baselines and target
opportunities.
JOCO WORKS
Served on the steering committee to plan
JOCO WORKS, a collaborative effort with
Johnston County Public Schools, Johnston
Community College, Johnston County chambers,
and industry leaders culminating in a handson unique career expo to be held in 2019 for
all Johnston County eighth grade students
(4,000+).
Designed the JOCO WORKS expo event logo
and sponsorship brochure, as well as planned a
video storyboard in order to market the event.
ENGAGEMENT
Attended the North Carolina Chamber Education
Summit, NC National Guard Operation Boss
Lift, and JCC Foundation Business before
Breakfast, as well as met with Capital Area
Workforce Development Board and Johnston
County Workforce Development Center to
uncover potential partnerships and collaborative
initiatives.
