2018 CCOC Legislative & Governmental
Affairs Committee and Highlights
COMMITTEE CHARGE
An integral component of CCOC’s mission is to communicate the views
of the business community to our elected officials as well as ensure
all Clayton voters are educated about all platforms. The Legislative &
Governmental Affairs Committee identifies and recommends policy
to CCOC board of directors on issues that affect our local economy,
business environment, and quality of life in Clayton, NC, as well as plans
voter education events open to the general public.

Defined committee’s new mission and
established committee goals and initiatives
for 2018 and 2019.
Researched Johnston County School
Bond on the November 2018 ballot and
recommended endorsement to CCOC board
of directors.
VOTER EDUCATION
Facilitated a Johnston County Commissioners
candidate political forum, Platforms at the
Podium, at The Clayton Center in order to
educate voters on candidate platforms.
ENGAGEMENT
Partnered with North Carolina IOPL to host their
Hometown Debate event dedicated to educating
voters about state-wide issues on the November
2018 ballot.
Planned a trip to the legislative delegation for
early 2019.
Presented a “State of the Chamber” address to
Clayton Town Council.
