Brad Kleinberg, President and second-generation owner of
Crystorama, has followed in his father’s footsteps and continues the
legacy Mr. Kleinberg has built by staying true to the founding principles
of great attention to detail. Brad has evolved the six-decade brand into
the digital age and continues to strive for customer excellence.
Brad has lived in New York most of his life and has been exposed to
many different types of design inspiration. These daily experiences are
what he has taken into account when designing lighting at Crystorama
to the aesthetics of his own home. Brad draws inspiration from the
glamour and romance of Old Hollywood to the timeless elegance of
classical fashions such as antiques, clothing, and vintage cars.
For lovers of minimalism, Brad’s home adheres to a streamlined and
simplified aesthetic. Creating a sense of harmony with furniture and
curated pieces of décor and art, the home’s open floor plan stays true
to a clean, airy, and comfy vibe. Brad describes his design style as
edited and driven by unique décor choices that are not trend-driven
but classics. Brad’s design vision is thoughtful, selecting elegantly
simple decor with great curves and movements. “I design with the
thought of how I like to live with the people I love,” he says.
The sophisticated color palette is made of layer upon layer of
neutral colors, including black, white, taupe, and tan, and he chose
to layer with texture rather than color. Brad opted not to have a
formal dining room and instead added a ping pong table. Family
game nights playing backgammon and classic board games are a
regular in the home, giving the family time to connect and have fun
with their sweet dog Dakota.
If you come to Brad’s home, you will most always hear classic rock
music playing. “Music was always a part of my life growing up; I
love the classics like Jerry Garcia, Lou Reed, Otis Redding, and
Talking Heads. I have been collecting for years unique black &
white photography of my favorite artists and display them in our
main hallway,” he says.
Brad keeps the space clean and crisp with minimal clutter and
has a space for everything. “With our open layout, we have an
opportunity for our family to gather in every room. I want my home
to run on laughter; whether it is getting our family and friends
together for large celebrations or watching a baseball game, these
moments are meant to be shared with the ones you love,” he says.
Lighting pictured in these photographs can be found in the Fulton and Zucca Collections.
