As a physical therapist assistant, you will work under the direction of a physical
therapist to help patients of all ages recover from medical problems and other
health-related conditions limiting their ability to move. Students will learn
about the common diseases and conditions affecting movement, how to work
with patients and skilled interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and
mobility training, balance, physical agents and neurological rehabilitation.

As defined by the American College of Surgeons, the surgical first assistant
provides aid in exposure, hemostasis and other technical functions that
will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for
the patient. Their role will vary considerably with the surgical operation,
specialty areas and type of facility. Employment of surgical first assistants is
projected to grow 31.2% through 2027, which is much faster than the average
for all occupations according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Their main
role is to work in the operating room of a hospital, surgery center, specialty
center, doctor’s office or labor and delivery.

As a radiologic technologist, you’ll work with patients performing radiology
exams at hospitals, clinics, outpatient imaging centers and/or doctor’s
offices to complete MRIs, X-rays, and CAT scans. Learn the safe use of
radiation to produce digitally processed images. Students will learn proper
positioning and imaging for diagnostic purposes as well as the skills
required to operate within the ethical, professional and legal boundaries of
the profession. Completing the program prepares you to take the American
Registry of Radiologic Technologist Exam and apply for state licensure
where you choose to work.

This program will provide students with the skills necessary to become a
successful surgical technologist, an integral part of a surgical team. This role
anticipates the needs of the surgical team, hands instruments and assists
the surgeon by holding retractors, cutting sutures, suctioning wounds,
adjusting lights and applying dressings. At the completion of the program,
the National Certification Exam is administered before graduation.
