I was introduced to the GDL by Davíd
Gálvez during my Freshman year.
When I first came to W&L, it was the
first time I ever traveled out of my
home country, Rwanda. I was excited
to meet a diverse community where I
would be exposed to worldwide
cultures and be able to share my own.
Thus, I enjoy working at the GDL
mostly because it gives me an
opportunity to help facilitate language
programs and make W&L more
inclusive. I also get to improve my
technological
skills
as
a
plus!
Additionally,
as
a
Biochemistry
student interested in research work
and graduate school, I enjoy working
in an environment as challenging as
the GDL. Outside the GDL, I’m part of
the African Society and WLUnite (a
disability awareness organization). I
also serve as an international student
mentor. In my free time, I like to read
novels
(my
favorite
books
are
Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi and My
Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult) and to
listen to French music and Afrobeats.
