I was first introduced to the GDL
through an Arabic class that I took
freshman year. I originally studied
Arabic because I wanted to form my
own opinions of the Middle East and
North Africa that were rooted in
academics.
Throughout
my
five
semesters of intensive Arabic studies, I
have grown to appreciate the richness
of both the Arabic language and
culture. Because I spend so much time
at the CGL and enjoy learning about
other languages and cultures, I
thought that the GDL would be a great
place for me to work. Every day, I am
amazed at all the languages students
at W&L can speak! As for a little bit
more
about
me,
I
am
from
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and am
pursing a major in Cognitive and
Behavioral Science and minors in Data
Science and Middle East and South
Asia Studies with a language focus
(Arabic). I am also on the leadership
team of W&L’s Club Volleyball team
and a Spin Instructor for Group Ex.
Overall, my job here has taught me a
lot of important skills and has
improved my ability to collaborate
with others.
