GOLD BRASS
Gold brass has an alloy mixture of 85% copper and 15% zinc with a clear lacquer coating on one side. Mainly used for
rotary or diamond drag engraving, the clear lacquer on the gold brass can be sublimated. When oxidized, the engraved
areas will turn black. Often referred to as “trophy brass”.
Recommended sublimation settings: Temperature ~ 380° F

Black brass has an alloy mixture of 70% copper and 30% zinc with a solid-colored painted surface. It was designed for
rotary or diamond drag engraving. This material is not recommended for laser engraving as the exposed areas will be raw,
uncoated brass and will oxidize over time.

finish. While designed for laser engraving, it can also be diamond drag or rotary engraved.
