C HA I R M A N OF T HE BOA R D
Serving the last six years as Goodwill Houston’s
Chairman of the Board has been an honor.
I have seen this unique organization evolve
to create more meaningful connections with
community resources and opportunities than
ever before. As I pass the gavel into Craig
Nunez’s capable hands, I’m confident that
Goodwill Houston will continue to be a pillar in
the community.
I want to thank Tommy Moore for his dedication
and insightful leadership these past six years.
I look forward to working with Steve Lufburrow
and his team as Goodwill Houston continues
to meet the ever-changing needs of our
community and workforce.
Reflecting on my final year as Chairman, we
served nearly 19,000 people through various
programs for veterans, young people, and
families. More than 2,000 jobs were made
possible for people across 8 counties through
our retail stores, donation centers, and job
connections centers. I am proud that we
continue to use 95¢ of every dollar spent
funding our mission.
The work is far from complete. Opportunities to
serve our community abound! The dedication of
our leaders, team members, friends, supporters,
shoppers, and donors will navigate Goodwill
Houston through its next 75 years of growth,
service, and innovation.
I look forward to helping Goodwill Houston
continue changing lives. On behalf of the Board
of Directors, Foundation Board, Trustees, and
the Business Advisory Council, I want to extend
a sincere thank you for your generous support
of this outstanding organization.
As I begin my term as Chairman, I want
to express my passion for the work being
conducted at Goodwill Houston and even more
importantly, the compassion being shown to our
community. Every day, Goodwill Houston offers
innovative services that change thousands of
lives right where they are. The power of work
creates a ripple effect enhancing the lives of
those with barriers to employment, improving
the economy, and strengthening communities.
The integrity I see in the Goodwill Houston
team with the excellent work they are doing is
something I am honored to be a part of.
Goodwill Houston has been an important part
of my volunteer life, and I’m honored to serve
as the 10th Chairman of the Board of Goodwill
Houston. I’m excited about the future and
pleased to assist Goodwill in its celebration of
75 years in Houston.
