When Goodwill Houston began in 1945, no one
ever imagined that it would grow to serve so many
people in the Houston area and be one of the leading
not-for-profits not only in Houston, but throughout
the country. Today, we have over $100 million in
revenue and over 95 locations spread across the
greater Houston area, so that we can better serve
the Houston community. I am so proud that we
have been able to provide opportunities to tens of
thousands of Houstonians every year, from all different
walks of life and with a wide variety of needs. We
can do this because our amazing teams who are
located throughout the area, demonstrate incredible
commitment and creativity as they change lives
through the power of work.
In 2021, we worked hard to revolutionize the retail
sales and create new ways to connect the public
with our mission. We titled this Annual Report,
“Moving Forward”, because despite over 75 years
of successfully changing lives — Goodwill Houston
continues to focus on what is next.
It is no secret that I am one of Goodwill Houston’s
proudest supporters, so believe me when I say
that this has been our best year yet! As many retail
operations struggled, Goodwill Houston’s teams
found ways to turn challenges into successes. I have
had the pleasure of watching as Goodwill Houston
refused to settle for “good enough” and continued to
work until every project met the high bar that they
set for themselves.
I want to thank our dedicated volunteer Board of
Directors, Board of Trustees, Foundation Board,
and Business Advisory Council. Thank you to the
Goodwill Houston team members for working so
hard to make 2021 a success. Thank you to anyone
who reached out to Goodwill Houston for help.
This year, thousands of individuals found a new job,
received free job training, connected with resources,
and began the first step to a better life. I am always
reminded why Goodwill Houston continues to be a
premier non-profit in our Houston Community. It is
my honor to serve this amazing organization.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible. We
could not be successful without our dedicated Boards,
our team members, as well as the shoppers, donors,
supporters, volunteers, and partners who help us
shine. We are grateful to you all.
