scraps transition into beautiful black
compost. Making compost gave him
a sense similar to creating a
masterpiece, allowing him to look
upon his efforts with pride. He also
shared how he used some of the
compost in his gardening and
described the effects of it on his
plants and trees as extraordinary. He
only wishes more people would
realize the benefits of compost as a
landfill diversion tool that is also
great for soil nutrition.
Further collaborating with GoZERO, his
business is now a holding site for
additional carts, reducing the number
of truck trips needed. He also shares his
space with Better Bin Composting that
offers drop-off and pick up composting
services to residents. Not only does
Plant Cincinnati divert organics from
the landfill, they also give back to their
community. Stationed along their front
walk is a “Little Pantry” and an edible
garden, free pickings for those in the
neighborhood who need supplements
to fill out their meals.
