serving up delicious, local fare are
anything but at the Sleepy Bee. As
the 2020 Waste Reduction in a
Restaurant Award winner, the Sleepy
Bee’s commitment to sustainability
serves as a model for all food service
operations.
The
restaurant
was
founded to highlight the importance
of bees to our existence and the food
we eat. Bees and other pollinators
ensure our sustenance and the
Sleepy Bee restaurants pass on this
gift while practicing their own brand
of community and sustainability.
The Sleepy Bee family does all it can
to practice reduction of waste and
resources. They have recycling at all
of their locations, saying “that was a
no-brainer”,
use
durable
service
ware, compostable to-go containers,
and they have their food scraps
hauled for composting. The Sleepy
Bee incorporates energy audits to
ensure efficiency. Furthermore, they
