IGNITE Annual Report 2017-2018 - Page 2

IGNITE Impact
IGNITE teaches young women
how government works, why
it matters, and how to become
politically engaged.
A note from
the President &
Founder
IGNITE is growing because
of extraordinary demand.
In our first year, we trained
50 young women. Eight
years later we trained and
mobilized 5,000 young
women.
IGNITE trains and mobilizes
young women who represent the
diversity of the United States.

At IGNITE, we are doing everything possible to make sure young
women across this country are putting their beliefs into action
by marching, volunteering, campaigning, running for office, and
flooding the polls!
If you had asked me 20 months ago where this country was headed,
I never would have predicted what I see today.
Young women in communities across the country are mobilized
to lead. They are at the forefront of policy change, they are
championing political change, and they are going to heal our
democracy.
When the news is disheartening, I make a point of dropping into an
IGNITE program or event somewhere in the country, because when
I speak with our young women, I am immediately filled with hope.
They are not angry or despairing. They are activated and ready to
change the world.
Eight years ago IGNITE started as an idea and an ideal: supporting
the next generation of women to lead was as important as
supporting female candidates today. You, our supporters, have made
that idea a reality. I hope you feel proud of what your generosity
has made possible, for young women, and for this country!
