MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
We extend heartfelt gratitude to our donors and granting
organizations for their unwavering support of Island City Stage.
Your contributions enable us to produce high-quality performances
that resonate with our diverse community.
In 2022, our board conducted a comprehensive review of our
operations, gathering input from patrons, donors, grantors, artists,
board members, and partners. This effort culminated in a strategic
plan, outlining high-level objectives and benchmarks for objective
performance assessment. Season 11 saw us meet production cost
benchmarks but narrowly miss seat occupancy targets, influencing
decisions for future offerings.
Financially, our revenue streams are well-balanced: 34.9% earned
income (ticket sales, concessions, events & rentals), 30.5%
contributed income (individual, corporate & board donations), and
34.6% from grants.
Post-COVID, theatres nationwide face evolving audience dynamics.
While our long-time subscription model undergoes
transformation, our FlexPass sales for season 12 exceed
those of season 11, reflecting a positive trend.
