Creighton Blackwell
Master of Ceremonies
Creighton P. Blackwell has been a community advocate for over 25 years on a local as well as
national level, and he currently serves as the Chief Culture & Impact Officer at Coastal Credit
Union. Creighton also has extensive community service experience serving on a wide variety of
nonprofit executive boards.
CJ Suitt
Poet Laureate, Town of Chapel Hill
CJ Suitt (he,him/they,them) is a performance poet, arts educator, and community organizer
whose work is rooted in storytelling and social justice. CJ was most recently appointed as the
first Poet Laureate of Chapel Hill. He is committed to speaking truth to power and aims to be a
bridge for communities who can’t always see themselves in each other.
Darrence Norman
Musician
Darrence Norman, 35, is a creative who loves music and has been playing since the age of 8.
His musical background includes playing the keyboards and organ for churches, weddings,
community events and more. He is also an IT professional who enjoys traveling, trying new
eateries and watching sports in his spare time.
