Jack London’s classic tale comes to life on stage. Kidnapped from his
lavish life on a California estate and sent to work as a sled dog during
the great Klondike Gold Rush of the 1800s, Buck becomes the most
famous dog in the northland’s history. This multi-media adventure
features 180-degree projection that provides scenic, artistic and
historical context to tell the story of Buck, the magnificent offspring of
a St. Bernard and Scottish Collie.

A bilingual musical, based on the beloved book about the true story
of the Mexican American author and educator Tomás River, this
inspirational production shows how reading and education and selfesteem can make anything possible. As the young son of migrant farm
workers, Tomás spends the summer with his family following the crops
north from Texas to Iowa, passing long days listening to his grandfather
tell stories. When he meets the “Library Lady” at the Carnegie Library,
she recognizes his thirst for knowledge and encourages him to read. By
the end of the summer, Tomás has great pride in becoming his family’s
new storyteller.

PERSSON HALL
Performance Length: One hour
Recommended Grade Levels: 4-8
Suggested Curricula: Language Arts, Social Studies, Theater
You probably know by now that history is StoryMakers’ jam! And this
time it’s a mythic mashup of tales from the ancient world. So…what if
Odysseus (Ulysses) teamed up with Aeneas (uh…Aeneas) after the Trojan
War? And, what if Echo won’t shut up and Narcissus won’t stop looking
at himself? Annoying? Yeah. And what if the Cyclops (one eye) meets
Argus (a hundred eyes)? Would they “see” things differently? Don’t look
now. From Mesopotamia and Egypt to Athens and Rome, we’ll mash up
the madness without making a major mess; maybe. It’s very smart and
STUPID fun! And also alliterative. (See what we did there?)
