WINEMAKING + VINEYARDS UPDATE
JENN I F ER H I G G INS
Greetings from the Production Team,
As I’m writing this, harvest is in full swing
and grapes are everywhere! We have
increased our cellar team from four people
to ten to handle the workload, and there is
an energy in the cellar that is electric. Our
cellar interns come from Washington DC,
Denver, and Santa Rosa, joined by our own
Erin Hanahoe from Hospitality in the lab
and of course, our grape sampler Shelby
Kolpin (secret superpower- she can fall
uphill). It’s a great team of people all of
whom appreciate the privilege of working
with grapes from so many historic
vineyards. The vibe is fun and focused,
knowing that this is our one chance a year
to make great wine. Of course, we need to
mention our two vineyard teams at
Clendenen Vineyard Management and Oak Knoll Farming that manage 47 acres of estate vines. They’ve put in the work all growing
season and will now help get the fruit out of the field and into the winery. All told, we are sourcing fruit from 20 different vineyards
and picking grapes from the four corners of Sonoma County - Moon Mountain to Knights Valley, Russian River to Rockpile. It’s a
true collaborative effort to ensure we make the best wine possible.
