Lion Street Firms continue to have strong growth in core life insurance sales across all market segments
and product lines, resulting in 30%+ year-over-year growth in sales and surpassing more than $100 million
of commissionable life premium. This success is supported by a focus and investment of resources on
driving organic growth from existing Firms, getting new Firms “Lionized” quickly, and executing on large
A robust economy and a full year into tax reform have resulted in balanced life insurance sales growth in
both the protection and wealth transfer markets (48% of sales) and the wealth accumulation and retirement
distribution markets (52% of sales). Specialty markets were a big driver of premium in 2018 with Premium
Finance, Business Insurance, High-Net-Worth Foreign Nationals and Charitable designs all having success
stories as underwriting requirements and products better aligned with these opportunities.

Organic Firm growth: Driven by 170+ Firms doing business with Lion Street, 75 Firms qualifying for our
Owners Convention and 25+ Firms exceeding $1 million of life premium.
New Firms: From 2017 and 2018 having significant growth in production as a result of better Firm selection, integration
and onboarding processes.
• Large Case Unit: Handled 275+ cases with $100,000+ premium with concierge underwriting and design support.
This continued execution of growth plans has enabled Lion Street to garner significant influence as a top distributor with our carrier
partnerships, including direct access and unique resources. Within our open architecture, these companies had the most success
with our Firms in 2018, with a continued focus on working directly with Lion Street Firms and supporting the high-net-worth,
