Chartered in 1975, the Fort Valley/Macon Graduate Chapter (Delta Pi Sigma) of Sigma Gamma Rho
Sorority, Inc. and the Undergraduate Chapter (Zeta Pi) at Fort Valley State College were organized to serve the Middle Georgia
community.
The mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and
globally through community service, civil, and social action. The sorority’s goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of
education, health awareness, and leadership development through members, affiliates, staff, and community partners to
create and support initiatives that align with its vision.
The sorority’s National Programs and Initiatives are organized under an “umbrella” of signature programs known as H3: It’s
All About Me – Healthy Choices, Healthy Living, Healthy Generations. The programs focus on prevention as a means of taking
a more proactive approach to address the problems in our communities in its totality. As a result, the national agenda
provides a forum through which the sorority and the community can work together to help women and young people cope
with societal challenges and assist them in making choices and decisions that they face on a daily basis.
