HIKE
Grab your boots and take a
hike! Head to Table Rock
State Park and straight up the
3,124-foot granite beast to the
park’s best view. Tenderfoot?
Devils Fork State Park’s trail
ambles through the forest, and
reaching the waterfalls requires
a boat. Keep your eyes peeled
for the lovely little unicorn of
wildflowers, the Oconee Bell.
PICK
You can’t get more farm-totable than picked right at the
farm. At Chattooga Belle
Farm and Abbott Farms
something’s ripe for the picking spring through fall—from
apples to zucchini. Or shop
the Greenville State Farmers
Market, open six days a week
year-round for produce, plants
and all things handmade.
LISTEN
Do you like good music? From
bluegrass to rock and roll,
music—and arts of all kind—
fills Greenville for three days
during Artisphere. Nearby, a
30-minute walking tour along
the Spartanburg Music Trail
celebrates the area’s diverse
musical heritage and how it
touched iconic artists such as
Elvis and Paul Simon.
EXPLORE
The Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway winds through
history, wilderness, forest,
small towns and state parks.
The Cherokees called the
backdrop of this ancient path,
the Blue Ridge Mountains, the
“Great Blue Hills of God.”
You’ll find these hills wellnamed and the highway well
worth a little extra drive time.
CHEER
Clemson University is ranked
among the nation’s best public universities and football
powerhouses. Excitement is
over the top in this tiger-paw
marked college town. Take a
free campus tour, then head to
the Hendrix Student Center
for Clemson-made ice cream
that has everyone screaming,
Go Tigers!
