bit wistful about the change. My husband and I adored the name
his mama had given him: Temesgen (pronounced Tom-es-gen). In
Ethiopia, Temesgen means the overwhelming, deep adoration and
thankfulness you feel in your heart toward God. What a beautiful
and significant name!
This is the kind of thankfulness I believe euchariste points us
toward. Thankfulness with incredible depth and significance. One

into the world around us.
Eucharisteo means “to give thanks,” and give
is a verb, something that we do. God calls
me to do thanks. To give the thanks away.
That thanks-giving might literally become
thanks-living. That our lives become the
very blessings we have received.

I could let Him make me the gift!
I could be the joy!18
