How Far Should I Go?

about sex and love is connected to how
they feel about other people’s bodies. Before people go through puberty,
most have a child’s curiosity about others’ bodies. But after puberty,
people’s interests in other bodies are more than just ­curiosity—­they
can include powerful feelings of excitement and desire.
Feelings of sexual desire are connected to romantic love. God
made us so that the more love and infatuation we have, the more
sexual feelings and desire we experience. Young children love their
families and naturally desire to hug, kiss, and touch them. This is a
way children express love with their bodies.
The attraction and love you experience as a teenager include this
desire to hug or kiss, but the feelings are different and stronger. You
may have noticed that couples who seem to be in love touch each
other a lot, hold hands, and put their arms around each other. Some
moms and dads act this way toward each other: They hug and kiss
