The Challenge
The crisis of mis- and disinformation is an emergency
that threatens the very fabric of our democracy. Too
many people lack news literacy skills and feel powerless
to do anything about the 昀氀ood of misleading and
harmful content polluting our information landscape.
In 2019, a Stanford History Education Group study
concluded that nearly all high school students
surveyed did not consider the validity of a source.
Also in 2019, the Pew Research Center reported
that only a minority of adults could correctly
differentiate between fact and 昀椀ction.
