purposes. Our life without water is unimaginable. We use water for drinking, washing,
bathing etc. We are not the only organisms that require water for our survival; plants and
animals also require we water to perform photosynthesis and proper functioning of the body
respectively.
Water pollution has a very crucial impact on our environment. It causes in the demise of
thousands of innocent sea creatures due to consumption of goods like plastic, metal pieces
and batteries. About 80 percent of the consumed water that lacks proper treatment is dumped
into water bodies making it unfit for consumption. We humans use around 24 gallons of
water daily to have bath. Surprisingly, here we are wasting water, leaving taps as if we don’t
care about water whereas in some places people value one drop of water more than the money
that they earn because our natural environment can’t be bought by metal coins and paper
notes. It is our primary responsibility to conserve water which we can do by taking the
slightest measures like:- turning off the taps when not needed, using drip irrigation to water
plants, take short showers, plant drought resistant trees and shrubs, reduce the amount of
water used in cleaning, stop dumping waste in ocean and seas, treating water properly. We
will not be able to make our environment green without conserving water. Do not put off
these tasks till tomorrow, as that tomorrow might never come.
“A drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man.”

When will we stop talking?
We talk about how females are unsafe,
But only when a girl is raped.
We talk about racism,
But only when a black is killed.
We talk about freedom of speech,
But only when the protests are banned.
We talk about nepotism,
But only when an actor kills himself.
We talk about human dignity,
But only when the labourers walk to get back to their homes.
We talk about secularism,
Only when the Muslims are forced to convert.
We talk about gender equality,
But only when the gays are boycotted.
