Ruff 2 & 7 Selective
Attention Test
CTMT2
Ronald M. Ruff, PhD, and C.
Christopher Allen, PhD
A quick, simple measure of attention that
assesses vigilance during visual tracking
and accurate selection of target stimuli,
the DVT isolates alertness and places
minimal demands on the selectivity and
capacity components of attention.
Comprehensive Trail-Making
Test–Second Edition
Cecil R. Reynolds, PhD
BTA
A theoretically based attention measure for
examining patients with cerebral damage
requires examinees to detect external
stimuli, which requires self-initiated
activity and a high level of vigilance.
A standardized assessment that uses five
visual search and sequencing tasks, the
CTMT2 detects frontal lobe deficits and
problems with psychomotor speed, visual
search and sequencing, and attention.
The BTA provides a rapid, bedside assessment of attentional impairment and can
be used with individuals with visual and
motor impairments that preclude tests
requiring visual scanning or manual
dexterity. Includes two parallel forms.
