Training
Age Group Play
The days, times, and locations of team training
is determined by the Director of Coaching in
conjunction with the coaching staff.
PRFCYS encourages all players to play with their
age group peers. There may be certain instances
when it is beneficial for the development of a
player to play “up” an age level for the season or
train with other teams to maximize their
individual development. Players may also be
asked to play “up” in a regular-season game or
tournament as a guest player. These decisions
are made on an individual basis by the Director
of Coaching with consultation from the
professional coaching staff.
All players should arrive 15 minutes prior to
the beginning of each training session
prepared to train wearing the appropriate
training uniform. At U13 and older, the coach
will give the team captain a warm up for the
players to complete prior to the beginning of
each training session. This will ensure players
are prepared and the coach can focus on
utilizing the full training time for player
development.
Game Day & Training Day
Expectations
All players and coaching staff will be dressed in
official PRFCYS uniforms for all practices and
games. Your coach will detail the appropriate
training uniform and game uniform in the
preseason parent meeting. We expect all
players to contribute in all practices and
games with a positive attitude and maximum
effort. We expect all PRFCYS players to be at
the game field prior to the scheduled game
time according to the following schedule to
allow for an appropriate warm up:
• U11 and older teams - 45 minutes prior to
the scheduled game time.
• U10 and younger teams - 30 minutes prior
to the scheduled game time.
We also expect players to warm up prior to
being substituted into games.
Goalkeeping
PRFCYS offers specialized goalkeeper training to
all of our goalkeepers. Goalkeepers are expected
to attend goalkeeper training sessions.
Goalkeeper age group training sessions are
scheduled by the head goalkeeper coach and
designed to maximize goalkeeper development.
Your Role as a Member of
PRFCYS
The ideals that PRFCYS encourages in our
training sessions are ideals that have greater
reach than just on the field. Character,
Commitment, and Self-Confidence are traits that
we would like to see demonstrated by our young
men and women on and off the field. Whether
you are a player, parent, family member, or
coach in the Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer
community, you are a representative of the Club
and the mission and ideals that we seek to
promote both on and off the field. We ask that
all our members uphold the code of conduct
that they will sign as a player, parent, or coach,
and illustrate self discipline and self control at all
times. We also ask you to keep in mind that
players represent the Club when they are off the
field. When you wear the Phoenix Rising FC
Youth Soccer badge, you represent the entire
Club.
