DINOSAUR DIAMOND SCENIC BYWAY &
DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT
CANYON PINTADO &
HISTORIC ROCK ART
This scenic National Byway will enchant
its travelers with views of prehistoric
plateaus, dinosaur quarries, petroglyphs and
pictographs as it loops through Western
Colorado and Eastern Utah. As the White
River travels along Western Colorado before
leaving into Utah, it’s perfect for fishing,
paddle boarding or tubing and amazing
wildlife viewing.
Spark your imagination as you tour the
extensive rock art sites in the “Painted
Canyon.” Home to 16 designated sites of the
Fremont and Ute Native American cultures
that date back over 1,000 years, Canyon
Pintado is a “must do” while in Rangely.
