ANTARCTIC CLIMATE AND ECOSYSTEMS
COOPERATIVE RESEARCH CENTRE (ACE CRC)
The Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems
Cooperative Research Centre is Australia’s
primary vehicle for understanding the role
of the Antarctic region in the Earth’s climate
and ecosystems.
Built on a long-standing collaboration
between seven core partners and thirteen
supporting partners, the ACE CRC’s
multi-disciplinary research program brings
together world-leading expertise in ocean,
atmospheric, cryospheric and ecosystem
sciences. The ACE CRC works closely
with governments and industry to provide
accurate, timely and actionable information
on these changing systems, and the likely
impacts for Australia.
The ACE CRC is established and supported
under the Australian Government’s
Cooperative Research Centres Program.

ANTARCTIC TASMANIA
Tasmania is the powerhouse driving
Australia’s activities in Antarctica,
the sub-Antarctic islands and the
Southern Ocean with the Tasmanian
Government committed to providing
a high level of support to this sector.
Hobart is an international centre of cold
climate expertise. It is home to Australia’s
Antarctic and Southern Ocean science
community and hosts a number of
international Antarctic secretariats.
Antarctic Tasmania is the Hobart-based
office within the Department of State
Growth, working closely with scientists,
research institutions, sectorial organisations,
cold-climate businesses and the Australian
Government to strengthen and grow our
Antarctic sector and its brand.
We also participate in trade missions and
provide secretariat support to the Tasmanian
Polar Network and the Tasmanian Antarctic
Gateway Advisory Committee.
If you need assistance with your Antarctic,
sub-Antarctic, Southern Ocean or cold
climate endeavours, our dedicated staff
can:
• introduce you to the key players in
business, government, science and
research organisations
• help you source customised goods
and services
• provide policy and strategic advice
on international Antarctic matters
• assist visiting Antarctic programs
to access the products, information
and connections they need in an
environment free of excess regulation
• attract investment support
• identify collaboration opportunities
locally, nationally and internationally.
