Mental Wellness Matters- Around The World Event:
River Edge InTUNE (Integrated Treatment Understanding Needs and Emotions) provides hope and help to
young adult residents of Baldwin, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Twiggs
and Wilkinson counties experiencing first episode psychosis. The InTUNE team hosted an “Around the
World Event” for individuals served. The Mental Wellness event included yoga and allowed individuals to
experience foods from different cultures around the world.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are at higher risk of co-occurring mental
health conditions. Studies estimate that 33% of individuals with IDD also have a co-occurring mental
illness.

River Edge is central Georgia’s ONLY provider of specialized services for adults with co-occurring
developmental disabilities and mental illness.
River Edge IDD services provide:
Residential Supports: From a few hours per day to 24/7/365, caring and well-trained team members
teach, reinforce and support daily nutrition, hygiene, medication management and social skills in
homes.
Day Supports: River Edge offers 3 community integration centers across the central Georgia region.
Family Support: River Edge administers contracted family support funds to help families eliminate the
need for out of home placement for their loved one.
Crisis Support: River Edge provides in-home and out-of-home supports to individuals referred by the
state’s mobile crisis provider.
Dedicated Psychiatry Clinic:Tailored to meet the needs of individuals River Edge supports who have
IDD.
The River Edge team includes a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Nurses.
Waiver Application Assistance: Trained River Edge team members help families complete waiver
applications.
