Bayer Offers Guarantee on Dicamba Beans
Travis Sullivan, Seed Execution Lead
As the combines continue to roll,
and yields start to come in; it’s a great
time to begin thinking about the right
soybean platform for your farm in
2021. Bayer recently announced that
their newly traited bean platform,
XtendFlex with Asgrow seeds, received
full approval for planting in 2021.
This new approval allows River Valley
Cooperative the unique position of
being able to offer every weed control
system on the market.
This new technology offers outstanding yield potential and weed
control flexibility that will benefit soybean farmers across the U.S. XtendFlex beans are the next generation
of herbicide tolerance in soybeans.
“
They possess a three-way tolerance
to dicamba (pending approval),
Roundup, and Liberty. It is a trait
platform that is built on the current
Roundup Ready 2 Xtend platform,
but with an added flexibility from
a herbicide tolerance standpoint.
This approval adds another mode
of action growers can use in soybeans, and is another tool in the
toolbox.
XtendFlex soybeans, Bayer’s
newest soybean technology, is built
upon the high-yielding Roundup
Ready 2 Xtend soybean technology
that growers have grown to trust
with the additional tolerance to
glufosinate herbicides. XtendFlex
soybeans provide growers with additional flexibility to manage toughto-control and resistant weeds.
River Valley Cooperative will offer
XtendFlex, as well as Enlist E3 (2-4D,
RR or Liberty), beans for growers
for the upcoming season. A variety
of Xtend beans, as well as a few
varieties of straight Liberty beans
will also be available for sale this
fall. Through our multiple partners,
Asgrow, CROPLAN, Brevant, and
NK, River Valley Cooperative will
not only be able to offer multiple
trait platforms, but multiple genetic
platforms as well.
The best products are often spoken for before the combines stop running for
the season. It is a benefit to the grower to get something locked in early.”
