New technology enhances efficiency for growers
Craig Patty, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Innovation has always been a part of farming
culture, and ag technology is no exception. For the
past three years, River Valley Cooperative has been
actively searching for digital tools that would give
customers a seamless omnichannel experience. It
was essential that we blended our physical and digital
channels to provide growers with the same great
service and value they expect, regardless of how they
choose to do business.
“It was important for us to first look for partners in
the industry who can adapt and evolve as technology
changes,” says Craig Patty, VP of Sales & Marketing at
River Valley Cooperative. “It was fundamental to get
to the marketplace in a timely fashion and be able to
evolve as technology advances. It was also important
to choose partners who have the ability to fully integrate with our accounting system. We are excited to
have found those partners.”
River Valley Cooperative has recently partnered with
two complementary platforms that will allow the
cooperative to interact with customers on a digital
platform. It was essential to find tools that were mobile
friendly and would provide real-time information to our
member-owners 24/7 so it could be accessed when it
is most convenient for them.
River Valley Cooperative has provided a mobile platform for grain information since 2018. It served as an
excellent tool for many of our customers, but the need
for more in-depth information grew apparent. On
January 28, 2020, River Valley Cooperative partnered
with Bushel to enhance River Valley Cooperative’s
mobile grain offerings. Bushel is a technological leader
in the agricultural industry, providing unique applications to connect businesses with their customers
through mobile applications. Bushel software provides
real-time account information directly to growers by
integrating into River Valley Cooperative’s accounting
system and market feeds.
