TESLA’S PI TO SHAKE UP
MOBILE MARKET
Tesla is reportedly working
on a futuristic smartphone,
codenamed Pi, which will be
powered by solar energy with no
need for chargers.
The news of the new device
has not been confirmed by the
world’s largest electric car maker
yet - although insiders believe
it could launch late next year or
early 2024.
The Tesla Smartphone is also
expected to come with an inbuilt
functionality to gain access to
Starlink, allowing users to surf
the web without relying on Earthbound telecoms.
Already established by Elon
Musk’s Space X company,
Starlink provides high-speed,
low latency broadband internet
using satellites in low orbit. This
makes for reliable connectivity
in every area of the world with
no buffering on video calls and
online gaming.
Experts say the new Tesla
phone will be better integrated

with Tesla cars giving them more
control via the device. It is mooted
that regular vehicle functions
including
locking/unlocking,
controlling temperature and
media will occur through the
phone.
Don’t
expect
a
big
announcement anytime soon
though. Musk did away with his
public relations department in
2020 – relying solely on social
media, namely Twitter, to make his
announcements. Billionaire Musk
has 78.2 million followers while
Tesla has 13.6 million followers.
One further feature (straight
out of a sci-fi movie) is Musk’s
Neuralink being tied to the Tesla
Phone. As scary as it sounds
chips are being implanted in
human brains in trials to provoke
thought over action as a way of
communicating directly from the
brain. Although this seems like Pi
in the sky (!) this is apparently a
feasible possibility for future tech
comms.
