Our Clients
We are grateful for the
opportunities our clients have
given us to work with and for
them. Our client base is as
diverse as we are. We handle
some of the largest, most
important matters for Fortune
500 companies, as well as pro
bono matters for those who
also need our hard work and
dedication.

Multiple public and privately
held companies in the
insurance,
manufacturing,
transportation, food and
beverage, life sciences, and
healthcare industries, among
others, have turned to us to
handle their class actions,
product liability cases, labor
and employment matters,
IP litigation, commercial
disputes, and government
investigations. With the
addition of a transactional
practice, we are now handling
their commercial and financial
transactions, as well.
Clients First
We begin our engagements by talking with our clients about their goals and
their tolerance for risk. We want to know what they value and what they want
to achieve. Then we present them with options on billing and staffing. Once
our goals are set, we get to work, confident that we have clearly aligned our
interests with those of the clients we exist to serve.
During the last year, we have gained a good deal of attention because,
although we work long, hard hours, we don’t impose minimum billable hour
requirements on our lawyers. We are comfortable with a wide variety of
billing arrangements. This frees our lawyers to focus on driving results for our
clients, instead of internal firm metrics that measure their own personal and
institutional success. We know that our firm, and each of us, will do well only
when our clients do well.
We are not anti-billable hour. We are pro-client. Some of our clients choose
flat fees or caps. Some ask to be billed on an hourly basis. Some opt for a
combination. We have found that discussing at the outset the goals and
expectations of our clients and how they will pay us for the value we bring to
their matters is not only a good practice in terms of price, but also essential to
getting us all on the same page so we can focus on results.
Several major universities,
municipalities, and nonprofits have retained us to
handle a variety of litigation,
finance, real estate, and
investigation matters.
Individuals of all types—
from sophisticated corporate
executives to incarcerated
and indigent citizens—have
asked us to represent them in
a variety of matters.
