DAY FOUR: December 01 - Thursday
A Thousand Hallelujahs!
John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God,
who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29
This par cular John is the one nicknamed “the Bap zer.” When he
appeared on the scene, he preached about the Kingdom of God.
“Repent!” he exhorted the
people. “Turn your life back
With a thousand
toward God.” He was,
according to Isaiah 40, the one hallelujahs we

ever accomplished or would
accomplish. He would take sins away. And it would be THE gamechanging gi . It is never earned or deserved. It is a grace. It is a gi . We
are not the same. And, quite frankly, that’s the point.
Someone has said “jus ce” is ge ng what we deserve. “Mercy” is NOT
ge ng what we deserve. “Grace” is ge ng what we DON’T deserve.

Take a moment to think of these words from the song of praise, “A
Thousand Hallelujahs” by Brooke Fraser.
Who else would rocks cry out to worship?
Whose glory taught the stars to shine?
Perhaps crea on longs to have the words to sing
But this joy is mine.
With a thousand hallelujahs
We magnify Your name.
You alone deserve the glory
The honor and the praise…
