Adjust the Rotational Positioning of the Shuttle Race Guide Shaft
5. Once you've confirmed correct positioning, tighten
the compressible timing clamp screw (E). Be careful
while doing this to keep clamp (F) tight up against the
casting leg (G).
1. Determine that there is no more than 1/64 inch of play
in the left-right movement of the lower shaft (C). If
there is more than 1/64 inch of play, reset the left-right
positioning of the shuttle gib hook (p. 51).
Confirm that there is very little play in the left-right
movement of the lower shaft (C).
2. Rotate the balance wheel until the needle enters the
shuttle (73).
3. With left hand, grab the shuttle race guide shaft (D);
hold to the right and maintain light pressure.
You have now completed timing your Ultrafeed.
4. With right hand, loosen the clamp screw (E) slightly.
Adjust the shuttle race guide shaft (D) so that the
needle is positioned correctly within the retaining ring
cap spring (A).
