Program Description:
The Academic Transfer program helps you earn an associate degree by completing up
to 60 semester hours of general education credit, or you can take specific courses that
transfer to a four-year institution for your intended major.

or the equivalent of two full years to a four-year school.

Degrees
The Associate of Arts degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year
college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in fields such as business, education,
humanities, social science or social work.
The Associate of Science degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year
college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in fields such as agriculture, engineering,
science or mathematics.

Program Description:
If you love science, have an inquisitive mind and a desire to solve
biological problems, this program is perfect for you! We are the only
college in Nebraska offering this unique program. You will learn the
basics and graduate prepared for an advanced career in academic,
government and industry laboratories. If an advanced degree in a STEM
field is your goal, our program will prepare you for that, too.
Our program offers a hands-on learning experience that culminates in an
industry practicum, where you will directly apply the skills learned in a
real-world business environment as a productive team member.

Program Description:
The Global Studies certificate contains a wide variety of courses that provide students with the strong
global foundation necessary for a future in a variety of academic and professional pursuits at home
and abroad. This includes career paths that would benefit from an increase in emotional intelligence
and cultural appreciation. This is ideal for students who want to enter the local workforce with the
language and critical thinking skills necessary to become leaders and engaged in their communities
and abroad. This would also be ideal for students who have an existing Bachelor’s or Master’s level
degree but would like to add a global perspective to their resume to make them a more competitive
candidate in a diverse and international workforce.

Program Description:
The Associate of Arts degree in Psychology is intended for students seeking to complete their first two
years of a bachelor’s degree before transferring to a four-year institution to major in Psychology or a
related field. Students declared in the Psychology AA program will find opportunities for engagement
and connection to their chosen profession early in their academic careers. SCC also offers a strong and
active Psychology/Sociology Student Organization that will support students within the program with
expanded co-curricular opportunities.
