Message From our Pastor
Happy New Year! 2024 is here. This is the year of new beginnings. The number 24 is a multiple of the
number 8 which signifies that there is a new beginning in the earth, in the church and in you. In
2024 we can rest assured that Jesus Christ is still Lord and the one who makes all things new
(Revelation 21:5).
In 2023 we focused on the Power of Prayer! We explored texts in Scripture that illuminated prayer.
Most importantly, we spent extensive time dissecting and discerning the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew
6:9-13). In 2024 we are looking towards Heaven. Heaven is the word that the Lord spoke to
me for this year. We will actively seek God by looking at the themes of Heaven and what we need
to do to ensure that we will be there. In this devotional we will read the entire book of Revelation.
Revelation is filled with complex imagery that speak to the mystery of God. Yet, we will ask for the
guidance of the Spirit to reveal to us the things that are to come. I invite you to consecrate yourself
as we hear from Him who is the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 1:8).
Spiritual disciplines of our Christian faith are fruitful and useful as we seek to grow close and hear
from God. Fasting and prayer exercised with faith, persistence, and a pure heart will unleash the
power to destroy the plans of the enemy as well as increase our spiritual sensibilities to hear God
with clarity. I invite you to participate in the Daniel fast with us in January 2024.
The Daniel Fast is a dietary consumption of fruits, vegetables, and water. It was Daniel, the young
prophet in Babylon, who chose to reject the daily provisions from King Nebuchadnezzar (i.e., wine,
meat, choice foods, etc.) because doing so defiled the worship of Yahweh (Daniel 1:9-16). Daniel
willingly chose to trust God and honor God with his diet. In Daniel 10:1-4, Daniel fasted from
pleasant foods, meats, and wine for 21 days hoping to receive spiritual understanding from a vision
he received from God.
Like Daniel, we hope to sacrifice our fleshly desire for certain foods (meat, desserts, soda,
etc.) for 21 days as we seek the Lord. Join me for prayer at 6:00 am each morning beginning
Sunday, January 7th through Saturday, January 27th. We will use this devotional to guide us as
we seek the power of the Holy Spirit! Our worship platforms are below:

Our intent is not to harm or cause challenges to your health. May peace and favor rest upon you! I
pray that in 2024 you will rediscover the voice of God as you look toward heaven.
