Dr. Kelli Werling is the senior director of operations and director of swine health at the
Indiana State Board of Animal Health. She oversees development and implementation for
a variety of swine health regulatory programs and oversees a team of veterinarians while
directing general operations for the division. Werling grew up on a central Indiana farm
and graduated from Purdue with a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and a minor in
biological sciences. She graduated from the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017
and joined the Indiana State Board of Animal Health. She’s a representative on the Purdue
Veterinary Alumni Association board of directors, a member of the American Association of
Swine Veterinarians and the United States Animal Health Association, and a foreign animal
disease diagnostician. She is involved with the College of Agriculture Alumni Mentorship
Program and is president of the Stewart Cooperative Alumni board at Purdue University.
