WE BELIEVE compassionate care goes beyond treatment and
compassionate
care
proficiency. The inherent dignity and worth of every human being is what
defines us as an organization, and we devote ourselves to caring for our
residents, their families, and our clients with empathy, warmth, and respect.
We Salute Our
Volunteers

For his Eagle Scout project, Seth Dauber planted a daffodil garden as
a gift to The Legacy Willow Bend, in commemoration of Yom HaShoah,
or Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Completing the Circle
The Legacy Senior Communities can now offer a full continuum of care to seniors in the Dallas
Metroplex, with the addition of THE LEGACY AT HOME HOSPICE in 2019. “Each person’s end-of-life
journey is unique, and hospice services offer seniors and their families compassionate care when they
need it most,” says Legacy Senior Communities President and CEO Melissa Orth.
Through our comprehensive hospice service line, LSC aims to reduce pain and anxiety with symptom
management, advocate for last wishes, offer emotional support to the entire family, and provide more
quality days for the patient—wherever they live.
As a Jewish-sponsored hospice program—the first in Dallas—we honor the Jewish traditions and
customs associated with death and mourning, while respecting the faiths and beliefs of all we serve.

In 2019, our mother received hospice care from
The Legacy at Home, and the care provided to her was
amazing. The staff was professional, available, and caring. Our
family could not have been happier with the services provided.
Susan and Rosemary took such wonderful care of our mother,
and we are forever grateful to all the staff at The Legacy at
Home for showing the upmost care, love, and respect to our
family. Thank you for being there for us in our time of need
and for making the process less stressful for all of us.
Since it’s inception in 1953 as Golden Acres, and
now as The Legacy Senior Communities, our
army of volunteers has given their time, talent,
and dollars to make our organization operate at
the highest level—from performing for residents
to reading and playing bingo to gardening and
assisting with parties. They’ve given more than
8,000 hours and donations valued at $160,000
in 2019 alone. But even more valuable than
monetary gifts is the compassion, patience,
empathy, and joy they bring to our community.
