GEORGE H.W. BUSH – 41ST US PRESIDENT
GEORGE H.W. BUSH died late Friday, November 30, 2018, 8 months
after Barbara Bush, his wife of over 70 years.
George H.W. Bush and his wife,
Barbara had 6 children, George W.
(the oldest child), Pauline Robinson
known as “Robin”, John Ellis
nicknamed “Jeb”, Neil Mallon,
Marvin Pierce and Dorothy whose
nickname is “Doro”. Their 2nd
BARBARA AND GEORGE H.W. BUSH child, Robin was born in 1949 after
the birth of George W. in 1946.
Sadly she was diagnosed with advanced leukemia when she
was 3 years old and unfortunately passed away 2 months
before her 4th birthday.

George H.W. was a World War II hero, a Texas congressman and the Director of the CIA, and served as Vice
President under Ronald Reagan. George H.W. Bush was the 41st President (1989-1993) and brought to the
White House a dedication to traditional American values and a determination to direct them toward making
the United States “a kinder and gentler nation” in the face of a dramatically changing world.
He lost his bid for re-election to Bill Clinton. Still, he lived to see his son, George W. twice elected to the
presidency—only the second father and son chief executives following John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

A letter that George H.W. Bush wrote to Bill Clinton went viral December 1st after his passing the evening
before:

Dear Bill,

When I walked into this office just now I felt the same
sense of wonder and respect that I felt four years ago. I know you
will feel that too.

I wish you great happiness here. I never felt the
loneliness some Presidents have described.

There will be very tough times, made even more difficult
by criticism you may not think is fair. I’m not a very good one to
give advice; but just don’t let the critics discourage you or push you off course.

You will be our President when you read this note. I wish you well. I
wish your family well.

Your success now is our country’s success. I am rooting hard for you.

The 43rd president issued a statement Friday, November 31st following his father’s death, saying
the elder Bush “was a man of the highest character.”
Jeb Bush posted on December 1st at 6:38 am. “I already miss the greatest human being that I will
ever know. Love you, Dad.”
George H.W. Bush made his eighth parachute jump to mark his 90th birthday, June 12, 2014.
