Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting experiences of one’s life. It is the time you commit to the person you love. The key to
orchestrate a successful celebration lies foremost in organization. The following is a countdown checklist to keep you on schedule.
12 Months Before the Wedding
Together with your parents,
determine your wedding budget.
Secure your reception site as soon as
possible. Ask friends and family
members to serve as wedding
9 Months Before the Wedding
Begin compiling your guest
lists and consolidate them.
Interview and hire service providers;
your caterer, photographer,
videographer, florist, musicians, etc.

6 Months Before the Wedding
Shop for, select and order the bride’s
gown, veil, headpiece and

Six Weeks Before the Wedding
Meet with musicians or DJ to discuss
musical selections for the reception.
Provide a play list for special dances,
ie: the bride and groom’s first dance,
the bride’s dance with her father, etc.
Arrange for wedding rehearsal and
inform wedding party members of
the time, date and location.
One Month Before The Wedding
Record RSVPs and gifts received.
Schedule final fittings.
One Week Before the Wedding
Give caterer the final guest count.
Put together a ‘wedding emergency kit’;
ie: extra stockings, safety pins, hair
spray, band-aids, aspirin, makeup, etc.
The Big Day
