Ellen Weiss MSW Chai Lifeline Southeast Director
Ellen Weiss is the founding Director of Chai Lifeline Southeast. She opened the first regional office
of Chai Lifeline, an international health support system. Chai Lifeline provides emotional, social
and financial support to seriously ill children and their families, as they weather the crisis and daily
challenges of their illness. Ellen has experience in the nonprofit sector with direct patient services,
medical advocacy, program development, volunteer recruitment and fundraising. She also serves
the community as a therapist and consultant. Ellen has been called upon many times to speak and
do crisis intervention in homes, schools and large community settings.
Ellen Weiss has resided in South Florida for over 50 years. She attended the Hebrew Academy of
Greater Miami and completed her BA degree at Simmons College in Boston, Mass followed by her Master of Social
Work from Barry University.
She is married, has three children and boasts about her many grandchildren.
