wanted me to believe about myself, I wouldn't know the
peace and self- love I have for myself today. I look for ward to
becoming a br ighter beacon of light as I grow into an ar t
teacher and skilled painter.
Give us a snapshot of your br and? What do you do or
make?:I create color ful and busy compositions on canvas. I
also enjoy upcycling vintage mater ial , and sewing creating
my own patter ns. Right now I am getting better at video
editing to continue to cultivate my youtube channel: Miss
Olivia Ng0zitheflower.
Why did your star t wor king on your cr aft? What motivated

you?:I star ted creating visual ar t in middle school, but I

didn't take it ser iously until high school. I was lead on this

path due to my interest in counter- culture and histor y. All
and all I figured ar t is an amazing way to record my own
histor y and exper ience. By lear ning about womanism and the
er asure of Black Woman In Ar t histor y, this is how I make a
statement for myself.
What is your favor ite ar ticle of clothing that you own?:My
favor ite ar ticle of clothing is a thr ift vest that I upcycled into
a patchwork denim jacket. The color and pr ints are so loud
but whimsical at the same time. When I wear it, I feel so tr ue
to myself even though a lot of people stare at the kitschiness
of the piece.
