in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are
your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
• L U K E 1 2 :6 -7 | What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not
forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t
be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
Don’t underestimate your value in God’s eyes. The Bible assures you time and again that
you are God’s unique creation.
Does my doubt keep God from helping me?
• MAT T H E W 1 4 :3 1 | Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little
faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
When Peter was walking on the water, he was overcome by doubt. But Jesus did not punish him or let him drown. He saved Peter. Doubt can be a starting place where you begin
to admit your weaknesses and grow in your faith. Let your doubts drive you into the Word
of God and draw you into a deeper relationship with him.
PROMISE FROM GOD
• H E B R E W S 1 3 :5 | For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

When strength fails and we grow weary and discouraged, we need someone to come
alongside us, show understanding, cheer us up, and inspire us to have the strength and
commitment to move on. When bills pile up and money runs short, we need an encourager. When we become a single parent and the world seems against us, we need an
encourager. When friends or family turn against us, we need an encourager. Our strength
and resolve weaken. Oh, for someone to come beside us and lift us up and comfort us.
Encouragers help us stir renewed commitment, renewed resolve. They inspire us with
courage and hope. Encouragers bring a beautiful gift, often a spiritual gift, when they
bring renewal through encouragement.
When do I most need encouragement?
• 2 C H R O NI C L E S 2 0 :1 2 | “O our God, won’t you stop them? We are powerless against this
. . . We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.”
• DA NI E L 1 0 :1 9 | “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be
encouraged! Be strong!” As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger.
• MAT T H E W 9 :3 6 | When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were
confused.
When you stand at life’s crossroads, you need encouragement to move ahead in the right
direction.
• I SA I A H 3 5 :3 | With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage
those who have weak knees.
When you are tired and weak, encouragement can give you rest and strength to continue.
• 1 T H E S S A L O NI A NS 5 :1 4 | Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who
are weak.
When you feel life’s challenges are stronger than you are, you need encouragement from
the One who is stronger to tackle your problems.
• 2 C H R O NI C L E S 3 5 :2 | Josiah also assigned the priests to their duties and encouraged them
in their work at the Temple of the Lord.
