Honesty & Integrity continued
Integrity means living a life that is consistent in belief and behavior, in words and deeds.
Your integrity is reflected in your relationship with God and with other people.
• PR O V E R B S 1 1 :3 , 5 | Honesty guides good people; dishonesty destroys treacherous people.
. . . The godly are directed by honesty; the wicked fall beneath their load of sin.
Integrity is the guiding principle of life and relationships, and it is directed by honesty.
• PR O V E R B S 1 6 :1 1 | The Lord demands accurate scales and balances; he sets the
standards for fairness.
• L U K E 1 6 :1 0 | “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you
are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” (See note on
page 940.)
• 2 C O R I NT H I A NS 4 :2 | We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t
try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are
honest know this.
Integrity begins with small decisions and choices made when no one else is watching.
• 1 C H R O NI C L E S 2 1 :8 | “I have sinned greatly. . . . Please forgive my guilt for doing this
foolish thing.”
Integrity is admitting when you have sinned and seeking forgiveness from God and others.

integrity.
• PSA L M 2 5 :2 1 | May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you.
• I SA I A H 2 6 :7 | But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a
God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them.
• PR O V E R B S 1 3 :6 | Godliness guards the path of the blameless, but the evil are misled
by sin.
Integrity allows you to continue uninterrupted fellowship with God and helps you to live
under his protection and guidance. When you lack integrity, you are exposed to all kinds
of sin and harm, especially the disintegration of your character.
• PSA L M 2 4 :3 -5 | Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy
place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never
tell lies. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their
savior.
• PR O V E R B S 2 0 :7 | The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.
When you live your life with integrity, God blesses not only you but also future generations.
How can I develop integrity in my own life?
• PR O V E R B S 2 :1 -2 , 5 , 9 | My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune
your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. . . . Then you will understand
what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. . . . Then you will
understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.
